Jualan Es di Bulan Ramadhan

Bulan Ramadhan memang bulan penuh berkah. Bulan dimana seluruh keluarga berusaha untuk berkumpul bersama dalam menyambut Hari Lebaran. Begitu juga dengan keluargaku. Kami berkumpul bersama di bulan Ramadhan ini. Entah untuk berbuka atau melakukan segala aktivitas bersama.

Bulan Ramadhan tahun ini juga tidak akan terlupakan olehku. Betapa tidak, selama bulan Ramadhan, aku dan ibuku berjualan es untuk berbuka puasa. Seperti es doger dan es buah. Kami berjualan hampir tiap hari kecuali pada hari Minggu.

Tidak muluk-muluk, kami berjualan di depan rumah kami. Kebetulan rumahku terletak di pinggir jalan raya. Ini foto saat aku sedang berjualan..

Hari pertama berjualan, rasanya sangat lelah. Itu karena aku belum terbiasa. Setelah beberapa hari, akhirnya aku terbiasa juga. Walaupun dalam keadaan berpuasa, kami tetap semangat dalam melakukan aktivitas ini. Demi mencari rejeki. hehe..

Konsumen kami mayoritas para tetangga. Kadang ada juga pembeli yang sekedar lewat di depan rumah dan tertarik untuk membeli. Hasilnya sungguh lumayan.

Pekerjaan kami ini sama sekali tidak sia-sia. Selain memberi untung yang banyak, juga memberikan kepuasan tersendiri bagi orang lain. Kan makna bulan Ramadhan adalah kebersamaan bukan? hehe..

Pokoknya, Ramadhan di tahun 2012 tidak akan terlupakan olehku. Karena juga bisa menambah pengalaman dalam mencari rejeki. Terimakasih bulan Ramadhan yang telah mengajariku arti dari kebersamaan.

Review Mockingjay

Katniss Everdeen selamat dari Hunger Games, dua kali. Setelah diloloskan dari Quarter Quell oleh kelompok pemberontak dari Distrik 13 yang sebelum ini diyakininya sudah musnah, Katniss menjalani sesi-sesi latihan dalam kota bawah tanah di Distrik 13 untuk menjadikannya seorang pejuang, pemberontak. Seorang Mockingjay.


Sementara itu, Capitol makin membenci Katniss. Capitol menghujani Distrik 12 dengan bom. Sementara itu, Peeta Mellark jadi tawanan Capitol. Katniss berasumsi Peeta sudah tewas. Sayangnya Peeta masih hidup. Peeta ditampilkan di TV dan disiarkan ke seantero Panem dan dia dianggap sebagai pengkhianat. Kemudian para pemberontak berhasil menculiknya dan membawanya ke Distrik 13. Celakanya, Peeta sudah berubah 180 derajat. Ia ditahan dan disiksa sedemikian rupa oleh Capitol. Peeta telah dibajak dan dicuci otak. Segala kenangan masa lalunya, terutama yang berhubungan dengan Katniss, diobrak-abrik dengan racun tawon penjejak. Peeta yang baru ini melihat Katniss sebagai mutt (makhluk buas ciptaan Capitol), dan bernafsu untuk membunuhnya.


Katniss depresi, stres dan menderita gangguan mental. Namun sementara itu ia terus berperang bersama para pemberontak, merebut distrik-distrik. Seakan luka-luka yang dideritanya belum cukup banyak saja. Katniss menjadi boneka Coin, pemimpin Distrik 13, sang Mockingjay yang menyulutkan api pemberontakan ke seluruh distrik. Namun ia belum mengetahui, bahwa Coin punya rencana lain terkait dengan dirinya. Katniss cuma punya satu tujuan yang menguasai benaknya, yaitu membunuh Presiden Snow dengan tangannya sendiri. Sahabatnya, Gale Hawthorne selalu ada disampingnya selama perjuangan, namun juga ada Peeta, dengan pikirannya yang kacau. Di saat-saat paling tak memungkinkan inilah, Katniss akhirnya bisa menentukan perasaannya ditujukan kepada siapa. Tapi percuma saja ia memilih, karena ia tahu dirinya, Peeta, Gale, beserta semua orang lain yang berjuang bersamanya, tidak ditakdirkan untuk tetap hidup

Review Catching Fire

Kemenangan Katniss Everdeen dan Peeta Mellark dalam Hunger Games berbuntut panjang. Kemenangan mereka menyulut api pemberontakan para penduduk di beberapa distrik. Oleh sebab itu, Presiden Snow berkunjung ke rumah Katniss. Membahas tentang tur kemenangannya. Atau lebih tepatnya, memintanya melakukan apa yang disuruhkan saat tur kemenangannya untuk meredam percikan pemberontakan pada para penduduk. Caranya mudah, dia hanya harus meyakinkan para penduduk di semua distrik bahwa Katniss benar-benar jatuh cinta pada Peeta, seperti halnya Peeta yang sepenuh hati mencintai Katniss. Masalahnya, Peeta sedikit marah pada Katniss tepat saat mereka kembali ke Distrik 12 setelah mereka memenangkan Hunger Games dan mereka saling menjauh. Dilain pihak, Katniss bingung dengan perasaannya terhadap sahabatnya, Gale Hawthorne karena tampaknya Gale mulai menunjukkan ketertarikannya pada Katniss.


Sementara itu, Capitol memiliki agenda sendiri untuk penyelenggaraan Hunger Games tahun ini. Tahun ini bertepatan dengan diadakannya Quartel Quell yang ketiga. Quarter Quell merupakan edisi spesial Hunger Games yang dimuliakan yang diadakan setiap dua puluh lima tahun sekali. Karena sifatnya yang istimewa, maka pada tahun ini pesertanya diambil dari para pemenang Hunger Games sebelumnya. Dalam upaya Presiden Snow membalas dendam, Katniss dan Peeta kembali bermain dalam Hunger Games. Mimpi buruk Katniss belum lagi hilang dan ia sudah harus kembali ke arena pertarungan mematikan itu dan mempertaruhkan hidupnya sekali lagi. Namun kali ini ia bertekad untuk melindungi Peeta karena ia berutang banyak pada anak lelaki itu.

Review Novel The Hunger Games

Pada suatu waktu yang tidak ditentukan di masa depan, Amerika Utara musnah karena berbagai malapetaka dan peperangan. Di tempat bekas berdirinya, muncullah negara Panem, dengan Capitol sebagai ibukotanya dan tiga belas distrik yang tersebar disekelilingnya. Kemudian pada suatu waktu, muncullah gerakan pemberontakan nasional dari distrik-distrik yang disebut sebagai "Era Kegelapan" yang menandai gejolak kebangkitan perlawanan distrik-distrik terhadap pemerintahan Capitol yang diktator. Dua belas distrik dikalahkan, dan distrik ketiga belas dimusnahkan. Capitol memberi penduduk distrik undang-undang baru untuk menjamin perdamaian. Dan sebagai pengingat setiap tahunnya agar masa kegelapan itu tidak terulang lagi, Capitol menyelenggarakan Hunger Games. Peraturan Hunger Games sederhana. Sebagai hukuman atas para pemberontak, masing-masing distrik harus menyediakan satu anak lelaki dan satu anak perempuan yang berusia antara 12 sampai 18 tahun, yang dinamakan sebagai para peserta, untuk berpartisipasi. Dua puluh empat peserta akan dipenjara di arena luar yang sangat luas untuk bertanding. Selama hari-hari pertandingan, mereka harus bertarung dalam pertarungan sampai mati. Peserta terakhir yang bertahan hidup adalah pemenangnya.

Katniss Everdeen adalah seorang gadis berusia 16 tahun dari Distrik 12 yang tinggal bersama ibu dan adiknya setelah ayahnya tewas dalam kecelakaan tambang pada saat usianya 11 tahun. Pada hari pengundian peserta Hunger Games (hari pemungutan) ke-74, nama adiknya, Primrose Everdeen (Prim) terpilih sebagai peserta mewakili Distrik 12. Katniss yang sangat mencintai adiknya akhirnya menggantikan posisi Prim sebagai peserta. Kemudian, bersama peserta laki-laki dari Distrik 12 bernama Peeta Mellark, Katniss menyuguhkan acara The Hunger Games yang tak akan pernah terlupakan oleh seluruh warga Panem.

Sang penulis, Suzanne Collins, mengatakan bahwa inspirasi untuk menulis The Hunger Games datang dari salah satu acara realitas di televisi. Di acara itu ia menyaksikan orang-orang saling bersaing satu sama lain untuk menjadi pemenang dan disaat bersamaan, dia juga melihat cuplikan tayangan invasi Irak. Seperti dikutip dari pernyataan Collins di situs resminya:

"Saya menonton banyak acara realitas yang memperlihatkan para anak muda bertanding demi jutaan dolar. Lalu, saya melihat gambar-gambar perang Irak, dua gambar itu bercampur di pikiran saya, dan itu momen dimana saya mendapatkan ide cerita tentang Katniss"

Selain itu, tokoh mitologi Yunani Theseus juga menjadi salah satu inspirasi penokahannya. Collins menggambarkan Katniss Everdeen sebagai versi Theseus yang futuristik. Rasa kehilangan Collins terhadap ayahnya dalam Perang Vietnam juga mempengaruhi penokohan dalam cerita, yang terlihat dari kisah tokoh utama yang kehilangan ayahnya pada usia 11 tahun, lima tahun sebelum cerita dimulai.
